The track can be designed to take you from the ground floor directly onto the landing level, to meet your needs exactly and offers an automatic hinge solution to prevent the track obscuring a doorway at the base of the stairs.

It’s twin-tube construction delivers strength and stability whilst enabling tight bends, in fact this system offers the tightest bend that is available from any stairlift manufacturer making it an ideal choice for compact stairs and hallways.

The stairlift hinge will lift/lower
automatically

Powered Hinge

Some houses will have a doorway close to the bottom of the stairs and the track may intrude across this. In these circumstances an automatic hinged track should be fitted. This means that the track can be folded away from the doorway giving clear access. When operating the stairlift from the toggle, the hinge will lift/lower automatically.

Powered footplate

The footplate and seat can be folded up to increase available space leaving the staircase as clear as possible for other users. If you choose the powered footplate option it will remove the need for you to bend down to fold or unfold the footplate.
Stairlift seat swiveled to allow easy exit

Powered swivel

When you arrive at the top of the stairs you will need to swivel your seat round so that you exit onto the landing safely. If you choose the powered swivel option the swivel is operated by continuing to hold the toggle when you arrive at the top of the staircase. The seat will move automatically.
The Perch Seat is an optional extra but might be better suited to your needs that the standard seat

Perch Seat

If you have restricted movement in the knee or hip joint you may find sitting painful. In these situations a Perch seat may be the solution. A Perch seat means that the user is almost in a standing position when they are using the lift. There is a shortened seat and retractable seat belt which provide a stable support area for users to ‘perch’ on. Upholstery is available in a choice of six colors

Most frequent questions and answers

Handicare offers a wide selection of stairlifts for straight
and curved stairs. With a variety of lift models we are able
to provide a suitable solution for each setting regardless
of whether the stairs are narrow, steep, curved or long,
indoor or outdoor. Handicare always has a solution for
your staircase.

No! The 1100 Straight Stairlift is simply installed onto the
stair treads. Because it is fixed to the staircase, you don’t
have to worry about any further modification to your home.

Entering and exiting the 1100 is made easy, simply unfold
the seat and footrest, sit down while securing the seat belt.
When it’s time to exit your 1100 you can use easily swivel
the seat to face your landing for a controlled departure.

A power failure is no reason to worry. Your Handicare
stairlift will use its batteries to remain operational and can
still be used for at least 10 rides up and down the stairs.
The 1100 features Constant Charge, providing charging
anywhere on the track so it is ready for use 100% of
the time.

The 1100 is equipped with a fault display behind the
power pack, simply review the code and call your local
dealer who can easily look up the code and inform you if
the battery needs to be replaced.

Generally the batteries will last for three years depending
on usage.
